Is violence or nonviolence the right approach to social change? History shows that successful movements have always used a range of tactics, challenging the idea of a strict divide. This workshop will act as a serious discussion on strategy, context, and what truly leads to effective action.

How can activists work together while using different tactics? The St. Paul Principles offer a simple set of guidelines for solidarity and respect. In this workshop, we’ll break down what they are, where they came from, and how they can help build stronger, more effective movements.

Flash Fiction on Social Housing
What can community-owned, truly affordable housing look and feel like? During this writing workshop, we'll draw from the social housing model as inspiration for our city. Join your neighbors in imagining the housing we want to live in and hear from Save DC Public Land on their organizing efforts to make social housing a reality.
7pm- 8 pm
Organizing Conversations 101:
To build our movement, we need to learn a foundational skill, the one- on-one organizing conversation. Building relationships based on shared issues and values is best for long-term organizing and mobilizing. We'll learn the basics of listening, agitating, and moving people into action. This will be an interactive and fun session, so join us!
